Polite leash walking -- we all want it but we don't know how to get it. This mini series will help you get started laying the necessary foundation to help your dog understand what it is that you want him/her to do when that leash is attached.
**Dogs may be excited, but not excessively barking or unable to engage with their handler with other dogs in sight. If your dog is reactive or uncomfortable around other dogs, please see the Reactive to Relaxed class.**
Equipment needed: collar or harness, leash (no longer than 6 feet; NO chain, bungee, or retractible leashes), lots of SUPER high value treats for your dog, water/bowl (optional), a mat.
All dogs and puppies must have age appropriate vaccinations and veterinary care, including a current (within 6 months) fecal test for parasites and giardia with a negative result. Please be proactive in this as many vets have lengthy wait times for appointments and if your dog/puppy has a positive fecal test, treatment, as well as a negative retest, will be required. Documentation is required.
