Sundays: July 21, 28, August 4, 2019
10:00 a.m. -- 11:00 p.m
Side By Side Dog Training, 2019 East 3300 South, Salt Lake City, 84109
Registration and a pre-class phone call is required.
Class is limited to 3-4 dog and handler teams.
Dogs react to the many different things that bother them in many different ways. For some dogs it's a mild or calm reaction, some dogs ignore what's bothering them, and some dogs react with a lot of energy -- barking, growling, pulling on their leashes, jumping. Relax is for those dogs who react with energy to other dogs, people and situations. We work with our dogs to determine what elicits this response, how to read our dogs' body language and find good working solutions for our dogs.
For some dogs and handlers these sessions are recommended BEFORE taking other classes/sessions. Please contact me if you have questions about what is best for you and your dog.
Equipment needed: collar/harness, leash (no retractable or chain leashes), a mat, and lots of soft, yummy treats.
Thank you 4Paws University for making such a great video available to dog owners!!!
NOTE: The point of this exercise is to MOVE THE DOG FIRST, to avoid giving people time to approach.I've noticed in comments that a lot of people are still focusing on what to say to keep people away. WORDS DON"T STOP PEOPLE and leave your dog in a position of danger. MOVE YOUR FEET BEFORE YOUR LIPS!
