Does your dog counter surf? Jump on people? Grab anything she wants? Does your dog rush out of the crate, the front door, or the car? Does he chase anything that moves?

Dogs aren’t born with impulse control. We need to teach them alternate behaviors! Impulse control is a life skill that ALL dogs should learn and is a foundation for good manners and calm, polite behaviors. We can help our dogs to learn how to make good choices to better navigate in our world and provide them with more freedoms to be their best selves.

Let us help you with foundation skills of teaching your dog impulse control. Opportunities for practicing with your dog are all around you!

Platform training is a useful tool in dog training! It is very versatile and can be used in many different scenarios. Platform training is easy, fun and can improve your dog's training!

BENEFITS OF USING PLATFORMS IN TRAINING:

Build confidence in shy or reactive dogs and in new situations
Improve your working relationship with your dog
Work on increasing your dog’s body awareness
A way to learn impulse control
Increase your dog’s focus and ability to ignore distractions

We will talk about different kinds of platforms and what to do with them. We will learn the basics of 2-feet On , 4-feet On , and Pause and get lots of practice on different platforms in class. No special equipment is required for this class beyond the list on our Class Info Sheet.

**This class is a prerequisite for Platforms and Parkour class.

Coming When Called is one of the top things humans want their dogs to know; it's also a life saving skill that all dogs SHOULD know. In this class we'll lay the solid foundation needed to train a reliable coming when called. We'll also play several fun games to show our dogs how FUN coming when called is.

Please bring a crate for your dog to be in when not training and playing. The Class Info Sheet has the rest of the list of supplies you should bring to class. (Be sure to bring LOTS of small yummy treats!!! We're going to be working and playing a lot in this class!!!)
