Cooperative Care

A mini series dedicated to the care and keeping of our dogs!

Side By Side Dog Training, 2019 East 3300 South, Salt Lake City, 84109

Registration is required.

Class is limited to 4 dog and handler teams.

Dogs cannot be reactive to other dogs or humans. Dogs must be able to work in a classroom environment with other dogs present and lots of activity.

Cooperative care can make life easier for you and your dog. Bath time and nail trims shouldn't be scary. Many dogs (and their parents) find going to the vet or groomer stressful or scary. Teach your dog to be an active participant with control over their care. Learn skills for exams and grooming while making handling enjoyable.
To provide a foundation for cooperation care we will learn or build:
Bucket game
Chin rest
Mat or station
Handling of ears and feet
Muzzle
Familiarization with tools and equipment.

All dogs and puppies must have age appropriate vaccinations and veterinary care, including a current (within 6 months) fecal test for parasites and giardia with a negative result.  Please be proactive in this as many vets have lengthy wait times for appointments and if your dog/puppy has a positive fecal test, treatment, as well as a negative retest, will be required. Vet form is required.

Vet Form

Equipment needed: collar/harness, leash (no retractable or chain leashes), a mat, and lots of soft, yummy treats.  Optional, but suggested:  a crate, a toy stuffed with something for your dog to lick (Kong, Tux, or Toppl with canned dog food, licky mat, etc.).
